I went to Whitstable earlier on in June to meet a client for a pre-wedding consultation, naturally, as a photographer, I bring my camera with me everywhere I go.
I took a few snaps just to get an idea of my surroundings and familiarise myself with some cool locations around the area where the couple will be getting married.
I actually forgot about the pictures I took until I was looking through my camera and stumbled across the photos from that day. So I transferred them onto my mac and started editing. some of the pictures started making me feel slightly nostalgic and made me grab my old family photo albums.
My uncle was a keen photographer, when I was a kid in the late 1980s, I remember he was always taking pictures and we quite often as a family went on day trips in the summer to Camber Sands in Kent.
whilst looking through the photos I really started to notice the colours and hues and all the shades and I decided I wanted to recreate this look for my forgotten Whitstable photos and any future photos I take.
Take a look below and let me know what you think, do they strike nostalgia and remind you of British beach holidays in the 1980s? Very specific I know.
