The Seychelles Islands
Hey, have you ever heard of Seychelles? It's this amazing tropical paradise made up of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa. I just got back from there and let me tell you, it was a dream come true!
As a photographer, I had a blast capturing the stunning natural beauty of Seychelles. I've put together a slideshow of some of my favourite photos from the trip, which you can check out.
So, getting there was pretty easy. You just hop on a plane from major international airports in Africa, Europe, or Asia and head straight to Seychelles International Airport on the island of Mahe. Boom, you're in paradise!
Now, the islands are divided into two groups: the Inner Islands and the Outer Islands. If you're looking for a more developed vibe, head to the Inner Islands, but if you want to disconnect and be one with nature, the Outer Islands are your spot.
Mahe was definitely my favourite island. The beaches were out of this world, the forests were lush and green, and the culture was vibrant. I even got to do some snorkelling, diving, hiking and exploring local markets and restaurants.
But don't sleep on Praslin! This island is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vallee de Mai, which is a natural palm forest that is home to the famous Coco de Mer palm tree. The beaches here were pristine and the water was crystal clear.
And let's talk about the food. The local cuisine is a fusion of different flavours and ingredients influenced by Africa, Asia, and Europe. I had some amazing fish curry, octopus salad, and coconut-based dishes. And of course, I had to try the local Seybrew beer and Takamaka rum.
As for accommodations, there's something for everyone. If you want to ball out, check out the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles. But if you're on a budget, Chalets d'Anse Forbans is a great option.
Overall, Seychelles is the ultimate getaway. It's got stunning natural beauty, a unique mix of cultures, and the warmest hospitality you'll ever experience. You gotta add this place to your travel bucket list ASAP!
